RANGE SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY

Firearms Safety Rules:

  • All guns are loaded – NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Never point a weapon at anything unless you are willing to shoot it, destroy it or buy it
  • Keep your finger off the trigger until you are sure of acquiring your target and your sights are aligned on your intended target
  • Be sure of your target; what’s in line with it; what’s next to it; what’s behind it
  • Never hand a weapon to anyone without engaging the safety – Always use the, “I check you, you check me, we check each other method of safe weapons handling
  • Never handle or remove a weapon from a holster when not on a firing line or instructed to do so by the Range Safety Officer – Shotgun safety, all breaches will be open when not on the firing line
    Range Etiquette
  • Follow all Range Safety Officer guidance and instructions at all times
  • Follow all range safety rules at all times
  • Keep all firearms holstered, at the high port and breaches open when not on the firing line
  • Maintain muzzle discipline at all times
  • Never hand a loaded weapon to anyone without engaging the safety
  • Maintain an alert state of mind at all times while on the range – “Observe, Correct, Report” – Never drink alcohol or take drugs of any kind when handling firearms – EVER!
  • No horse play on the range at any time
  • If unsure of an evolution or of Range Safety Officer guidance, ask Range Safety Officer or SASF Administrator for clarification

Please be aware that by entering an SASF sponsored event or shooting range area, you consent to your voice and likeness being used without compensation in films, tapes and still photos for exploitation in any and all media, whether now or known or hereafter devised, and you release the Stars and Stripes Foundation and its successors, assigns and licensees from any liability on account of such usage.
